Worship Technical Director

Job Description:

The primary role of the Worship Technical Director (WTD) is to be responsible for all technical aspects of the service pertaining to audio, video, lighting, and stage design, as well as overseeing leadership and development of volunteer teams. Doing all of this to allow participants in worship to focus on the Lord in an unhindered manner.

Hours would be up to 20 per week or as needed.

Job Duties:

• Develop and maintain healthy working relationships with Church staff.
• Oversee and provide direction for all aspects of Sunday services and special events at church. 
    > Use ProPresenter for lighting, building scenes, running services, creating and adding slides, and importing videos and PowerPoint. 
    > Set up and tear down the stage before and after events. 
    > Oversee our Livestream service. 
    > Navigate soundboard for all aspects of audio. 
• Oversee and maintain all production equipment at Church.
• Create and implement long-term equipment upgrade plans as well as preventative maintenance.
• Work within the budget given by the elders.
• Work as lead director and oversee worship service to ensure that service runs smoothly and that all parts can be seen, heard, and experienced comfortably.
• Recruit, equip, schedule, encourage and disciple the volunteer production team.
• Work with worship leaders and Monica to ensure ProPresenter slides are ready before practice begins.
• Ensure that any event (weddings, funerals, etc.) which requires sound or video has someone qualified scheduled to oversee the event.
• Be willing to be involved in community outreaches including opportunities for worship team to take part in various community events.
• Will maintain a vibrant faith in Christ through personal Bible study, prayer, and service.
• Will maintain a life of integrity, humility, and purity.
• Network with other Worship Technical Directors to keep up on current events/items.
• Always have clear communication lines open within the staff to promote connectedness between ministries.
• Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and always be willing to help other ministries (Be a team player).
• Remember that your family is your first Ministry and that a work/family balance is important.
