Family Pastor

Position Summary: Family Pastor to all students age birth – 12th grade 
Reports to: Senior Minister (direct supervisor); Elder (Oversight) 
Supervisory Responsibility: None at this time; future considerations of Children’s Ministry Assistant 
Time Expectations: Sundays plus four weekdays; Saturdays and Evenings as required 
Job Classification: Salaried

Job Duties

• Recruitment, training and supervision of all volunteers of the family ministry.
• Oversight of both short- and long-range planning for family ministry program (semi-annual goals).
• Budgetary responsibility for all family ministry programs.
• Plan, develop, promote & oversee all family ministry programs.
• Plan, develop, promote and oversee fellowship activities for all family ministry groups
• Co-leadership and Administration of music/choir programs for children and youth; in partnership with Worship Ministry director.
• Implement and maintain an effective shepherding/tracking program for the family ministry.
• Partner with other ministries to be a resource as needed (Preschool, Worship, Associate, etc.)
• Administrative responsibilities relating to Check-In/Security system
• Develop and implement annual family Discipleship/Evangelistic program (VBS or variant).
• Other ministerial duties as needed – including, but not limited to, preaching (4-6 times per year), teaching, leadership, service, etc.

• Passion to lead children and students into an exciting and growing relationship with Jesus
• Demonstrated spiritual maturity
• Gifts of leadership, teaching and administration
• Commitment to New Testament principles, including salvation
• Creates ownership of ministry, and is task-oriented, and independently motivated
• Flexible and adaptable
• Team leader and team builder, effectively builds relationships

Education/Experience Needed

• Preferred minimum 2-year degree in youth, children or family ministry related fields.
• Previous experience in church setting working in family ministry

Physical Demands

• Occasional activities with youth and children, including sports and games of a physical nature
• Lifting, pulling, carrying, pushing as needed to set up or clean up various church activities, programs, etc.
