Worship Minister

Spencer Christian Church is a non-denominational and independent congregation with roots in the Restoration Movement. We are elder-governed and staff-led congregation. SCC is situated in a fast growing community about 8 miles from southeast Louisville. With an average weekly attendance of about 550, SCC is a generous and hardworking disciple-making congregation on mission to Reach the Lost, Teach the Found, and Repeat the Process.

The role of Worship Minister will lead the way for God's people to worship our Savior at Spencer Christian Church. Embodying a growing personal faith, our Worship Minister will lead a team of musicians and vocalists to follow Jesus more closely, so that together this team can bring our church to the throne of Jesus. Our next Worship Minister is joining a multi- staff team that believes everything we do is because of Jesus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Worship Minister will provide an example to follow and lead the way for our church family to worship Jesus.
• The Worship Minister will grow and disciple our worship team -- equipping this team for the ministry of leading our church in worship as well as provide spiritual care for the souls of those serving on our worship team.
• The Worship Minister will collaborate with our Lead Minister to plan services that are unified with the teaching of God’s Word.
• The Worship Minister will oversee all details of the Sunday worship service -- oversee all technical systems, including the audio and video needs of the service, upkeep of all equipment, scheduling the team who serves on stage and in the background, and selecting appropriate songs for the service.
• The Worship Minister will oversee stage design.
• The Worship Minister will be welcome to serve in other areas of ministry as gifting and passion permits.
• The Worship Minister will serve in collaboration with the rest of the ministry staff team.

Personal Qualifications:

• Loves Jesus and possesses a growing personal faith Is faithful, available, and teachable as a disciple of Jesus Faith that is rooted in the Unchanging Truth of God’s Word Desires to make disciples.
• Demonstrates high-level of integrity in all relationships.
• Experience in leading and developing a team of volunteers.
• Capable musician and vocalist.
• Component with audio and video equipment.
• Able to utilize current technology and communication tools (Planning Center, ProPresenter).
• Capable of troubleshooting sound/video technology issues.
• Preferably experience in church-based ministry.
