Youth Minister

1. Recruit and train volunteers to help lead and serve in the youth ministry at LCC.
2. Lead regular Middle School and High School youth meetings.
3. Recruit Sunday School teachers for the Middle School and High School classes on Sunday mornings. Be willing to teach either of those classes as needed.
4. Maintain regular communication with parents of students keeping them informed of what you are teaching, of programing plans and of retreats, camps, CIY events and what is needed from the students and parents.
5. Organize trips to camp, CIY, retreats or other events such as mission trips.
6. Encourage young people to consider going to a Christian College, inviting college reps to come to meetings with youth and even taking youth to college campuses for visits.
7. Develop a mission, vision and goals for the youth ministry.
8. Be willing to attend and support some school activities including FCA and some sporting / school events.
9. Clean up after youth meetings or events so that the rooms used are ready for the next group.
10. Be willing to assist with Vacation Bible School and encourage youth to help as well.
11. Be willing to help and participate in other church events – especially those that include outreach to our community.
12. Be willing to help some with Children’s ministry in order to begin establishing relationships with kids who will be entering the youth ministry program.
13. Be ready to handle discipline and conflict with clear, godly communication whether that is with youth, parents, volunteers or other staff/leaders. We will seek to do the same with you.

The youth minister will work with staff, volunteers and elders in order to build a healthy youth ministry. We believe in team ministry as we build God’s Kingdom in our area of influence. The youth minister will be accountable to the Senior Minister and the elders of the church. Be open to advice, oversight, direction, encouragement and support from us.
