Ross Christian Church (referenced as RCC going forward), is seeking a full-time minister who will be responsible for shepherding, caring, and developing spiritual formation to our church, community, and beyond.
We expect the candidate to have a growing, personal relationship with Christ, and a big heart for people. This individual should possess good communication skills, an ability to think outside of the box, be able to work as both a team player and leader, develop leaders, lead a staff, and have efficient organizational skills.

Minister Purpose: To serve as minister to RCC; to lead, plan, and participate in services, activities, and community events that reflect the core values and vision of RCC; in collaboration with the Elders empower a team of volunteer leaders to minister to youth and families of RCC and the broader Ross community.

Competencies:
- Be able to communicate effectively and clearly God’s word to the congregation.
- Be a passionate, competent teacher of the Bible and foundations of the Christian faith and be willing to seek further education and skills as necessary and/or appropriate.
- Have a deep genuine concern for the care and feeding of the congregation.
- Can connect with people relationally and foster healthy interpersonal relationships among the people.
- Possess the ability to teach/model how Scripture informs our lives and how we live.
- Be knowledgeable of and committed to the “Restoration” principles of the New Testament Church.
- Have a basic understanding of the principles of counseling and be aware of the resources available.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to lead and manage a staff effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Preach regularly scheduled Sunday morning worship services and regularly scheduled services and programs.
- Create and maintain an exciting, engaging environment for people to encounter God through community and discipleship
- Lead and facilitate weekly Sunday morning services
- Work with the elders to fill the pulpit during his absence or special services.
- Provide counseling services consistent with an elders’ approved policy for referrals, etc. - Officiate funerals and weddings and conduct premarital counseling consistent with established church policy.
- Supervise the administrative function of the church office staff.
- Work with the elders in shepherding/feeding the members of the church.
- Attend regular elders and deacons’ meetings.
- Make evangelic calls personally. See that subsequent personal contact is made with all visitors. Develop an evangelistic program that involve the church membership.
Preferred Experience:
- Church staff 5+ years
- Experience preaching/teaching
- Leading a staff
- Seminary/Bible School education a plus
