BROOKFIELD CAMPUS PASTOR:
The primary role of the Campus Pastor is to be the spiritual and directional point person for the Brookfield campus of Crossroads. The Campus Pastor will ensure that the beliefs, vision, and values of Crossroads are the guide for all ministries. They will be the champion of an exciting and welcoming campus that creates a healthy and unified church culture to impact the community.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the key catalyst, committed to continually strengthening the bonds between the Crossroads campuses by reinforcing our priorities, vision, values, message and culture by championing one church in two locations.
- Ensure all ministries are set up for success with key volunteer leaders in place.
- Be the primary leader, developer, encourager and caregiver for campus staff and volunteers.
- Work closely with the worship team, tech team and small group leaders.
- Build a team of equippers who multiply ministry.
- Schedule and hold monthly team meetings to connect campus leaders, evaluate ministry and coach leadership.
- Be responsible for the spiritual leadership and welfare of the campus.
- Clearly communicate vision and values to the church with ways they can live them out.
- Lead in celebrating life change and wins as a staff and church.
- Lead the campus team to develop and implement campus-specific initiatives and objectives to connect people to Jesus and love the Community.
- Attend all necessary leadership meetings/functions at the main campus.
MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES BEFORE LAUNCH:
- Recruit and train launch team from Crossroads volunteers.
- Work alongside the Lead Minister to develop campus strategy and community impact.
- Lead a weekly small group meeting in Brookfield to build connections.
- Learn the culture of Crossroads to know how to replicate in Brookfield.
- Meet with Brookfield individuals and get involved in local activities to create a positive bridge to the community.
- Play an integral part in site design and remodel to create the best ministry atmosphere.
- Work alongside staff to develop relationships that ensure healthy team dynamics.
MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES AFTER LAUNCH:
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all attenders.
- Consistently host on the weekend. This includes making on stage announcements, transitioning from the message into communion, and casting vision.
- Lead and train other volunteers to have conversations that help people take their next steps at Crossroads.
- Love the Brookfield community by developing a Crossroads presence in the community and schools.
- Connect with the unchurched, de-churched, and those hurt by the church to provide a fresh connection to Jesus and the church.
- Develop missional strategies and build community impact teams that will engage and serve in the community.
- Engage with new guests and visitors and develop a strong, welcoming front door team.
- Develop and lead a clear “next step” plan for all adults to help them become connected and involved members of Crossroads.
- Oversee the weekend worship experience including the preparation and execution of service elements to create the best experience possible for those who attend.
- Identify, equip, empower and lead volunteers to do the ministry of the church at this campus, including but not limited to small groups, connections teams and other serving opportunities.
- Inspire the congregation to seek new ways to impact their community with the transforming power of Jesus.
- Personally connect with new guests through follow up systems and personal connections.
- Ensure that elements outside of worship and teaching are in place for the services.
ADMINISTRATION:
- Ensure that the facility is clean and ready to go for services as well as making strategic improvements for the long-term success of the campus.
- Monitor and report the pulse of the congregation through research and evaluation of attendance, giving, small group participation,
baptisms, volunteer engagement, and community transformation.
- Manage campus budget and provide oversight and direction in the large variety of financial functions of the church including: stewardship campaigns, cash flow, contributions, payroll, and budget development.
- Maintain the master calendar for the facility to ensure proper scheduling.
- Provide budget reports for ministry team leaders at the Brookfield campus.
PASTORAL RESPONSIBILITY:
- The Campus Pastor should view himself as the primary shepherd of his campus. He should work with his key volunteers to ensure
that pastoral care needs are being properly met for those within the campus.
- Shepherd and care for people of this campus including officiating weddings, funerals, personal and marital counseling, mentoring,
benevolence needs, hospital visitations, and church discipline.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR CAMPUS MINISTER:
- Minimum 3-5 years in Church leadership.
- Able to lead contemporary worship is desired but not required.
- Good public communicator who doesn’t have to speak every week.
- High energy, recognized leader who naturally connects and relates with people from all walks of life.
- Able to Identify, recruit and develop key ministry leaders.
- Excels in multi-tasking and building teams.
- Has a defining passion for lost people and for the community he is going into.
- Takes direction and feedback well has a great desire to learn.
- Is a team player and willing to help were needed at any campus or ministry.
- Lives near enough to and keeps a presence in the community the Campus is located and knows the demographics, needs and trends that affect that community.
- Fiercely loyal and personally embraces and models the church’s mission, purposes, values.
- Is a person of action and initiation.
- Is competent, confident and has a personal life above reproach.
- Commitment to serving the church in role for at least three years to ensure a solid foundation and consistency.
- Speak the truth in love.
- Promote unity.
- Mentor others with wisdom and grace.
- Committed to Crossroads and its doctrine.
- Committed to spiritual integrity and creative excellence.
- Committed to organization and well maintained work environment.
- Contribute to a healthy staff culture by being a team player and not pursuing isolation. This comes with an expectation for team trips or conference attendance.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- This is full-time salary position. Salary based on qualification and experience. A 90 day probation period will be set with a review and potential raise following the first 90 days. The Lead Minister and Elders will review the corresponding salary annually.
- The Campus Minister is accountable to the Lead Minister and Elders of Crossroads Christian Church.
- Evaluations will be conducted annually. During the first year of employment they will be month 1 year.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
- This position includes a 403B Retirement plan with up to 3% match and 1 annual unit of contribution($750) to the Christian Churches Pension Plan for retirement Additional units can
be contributed but at the expense of the employee.
- This position will include a yearly $300 conference allowance as well as a family membership to the local YMCA.
- This position includes at least 2 weeks of vacation as well as the following holiday’s: New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July
4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, a day equivalent to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Years Eve.
- Minister is allowed to take two Sundays off a year. Exceptions to these Sundays include speaking and other church events, church trips, seminars and camps.
Vacation schedules are to be coordinated through the Lead Minister.
